                                                                                                                           row of pencilsEstablished in 2010 by professional Electronic Notetaker and Lipspeaker Louisa McDaid, NoteText Communication Services provides skilled, professional communication professionals with experience of supporting D/deaf* and disabled people across a wide range of domains.

All Communication Professionals who undertake assignments on behalf of NoteText must be eligible for registration with NRCPD and/or their appropriate professional body and adhere to the Code of Practice as defined by their relevant association.

LOUISA MCDAID

graduate capsLouisa is a graduate and postgraduate of the University of Glasgow (M.A Philosophy, M.Th Theology).  Louisa has worked with deaf and hard of hearing people since 2004, including a year as a Communications Officer for a leading deaf charity. Following training from STAGETEXT, she became Scotland's first qualified theatre captioner, and has subtitled live theatre performances across the UK for the last six years. 

A former secretary and vice chair of The Association of Notetaking Professionals, Louisa is a member of the NRCPD Register of Level 3 Electronic Notetakers and the ANP Register of Notetakers.  She holds the Notetaker Tutor Training Certificate from City Lit College and in 2010, was shortlisted in the category of Communication Professional of the Year for the Signature Annual Awards. In 2012, Louisa qualified as a Level 3 Lipspeaker through Manchester Centre for Deaf Studies. She is currently undertaking the OCN Level 3 Certificate in Audio Description Skills.
